In Fall 2020, I enrolled in a Public Relations Writing course (MEJO332) instructed by Marshéle Carter at UNC-Chapel Hill’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media. For the duration of the semester, I was assigned to a team of fellow classmates to work and create communications material for Triangle non-profit, 3 Bluebirds Farm, who aims to provide an environmentally sustainable agricultural community for individuals across the autism spectrum. 3 Bluebirds Farm offers a variety of track-out and day camp programs in various divisions for children and teens, all centered on a unique farm location to promote interactive learning to aid the development of social, learning, and life skills.
In light of COVID-19, my team focused on creating digital content, such as press releases and donor letters, to promote a special virtual fundraising event for the non-profit known as the Bluebird Ball.
